Spicy honey, fresh mint, and savory sesame seeds. This is the ultimate watermelon salad.
Depending on when you start your summer calendar, it's either starting this weekend or just around the corner. Either way, it's never too soon for my favorite summer activity: eating watermelon outside. Now there's nothing wrong with the back-porch-seed-spitting-contest kind of watermelon, but there are times when you need to dress up the quintessential summer fruit.
If you have the grill going anyways, make a little extra room and whip up this simple and impressive salad.
1 quarter of a watermelon, seeds removed
4 radishes, thinly sliced
2 teaspoons sesame seeds, lightly toasted
2 tablespoons of Bees Knees Spicy Honey
Whole mint leaves to garnish
Slice the watermelon into triangles about 1/2 inch thick. Grill on both sides until nicely charred and sweet.
Assemble the watermelon on a platter, sprinkle with radishes and sesame seeds, drizzle with Bees Knees Spicy Honey, and garnish with mint leaves.
Light the tiki lamps and enjoy.
